  • Our prenatal care is inclusive, trauma-informed, and designed to support every family.

    We have extensive experience caring for Indigenous, trans/queer, neurodivergent, and Sanctuary clients (people with precarious immigration status who face barriers to medical care), ensuring you feel welcomed and fully supported throughout your pregnancy.

    Our Registered Midwives provide full scope midwifery care including prenatal, labour and birth, and postpartum services.

    Prenatal Midwifery care is fully covered by MSP.

    Our prenatal care services are available to families in Vancouver, with case-by-case consideration for those living outside the area.

  • Early parenting is an amazing experience! Welcoming your new baby, getting to know them, and starting your journey as a new parent is a transformative, but often overwhelming time. We’re here to help guide you as you navigate new parenting.

    We provide full postpartum and newborn care from birth to 6-8 weeks, providing evidence-based care tailored to you and your family’s needs. Midwives monitor the health and wellbeing of the birther and baby and provide extensive breast/chest feeding support in line with your feeding goals. We ensure you are recovering physically, and emotionally.

    It is our hope for all families in our care that this time becomes one of empowerment, where you have the support to really learn about your choices and make informed decisions about your health and that of your baby.

    Postpartum Midwifery care is fully covered by MSP.

    We provide postpartum care to families living in Vancouver.

  • Huckleberry Midwives is a collective of Registered Midwives providing Indigenous-led pregnancy, birth, and after baby medical care for up to 8 weeks postpartum. Our prenatal and postpartum visits are offered at our Strathcona Midwifery and Lu’ma Medical Center clinics. We offer home visits in the postpartum period for clients who live within our catchment of the City of Vancouver*. We offer both home birth and hospital birth at BC Women’s Hospital.

  • We are passionate about working with families experiencing challenges breast/chestfeeding meet their feeding goals.

    As lactation support providers, we meet you where you are at in your feeding journey, provide non-judgemental, evidence based information, and hands on support. Hazel Team Midwives Laura Wood RM IBCLC, Stephanie Crouch RM and Xanthe Faulkner RM have over 45 years of combined experience providing lactation support and are pursuing IBCLC certification.

    We provide home visits for lactation support, as well as scheduled clinic appointments.

    Lactation support services for babies less than 6 weeks old are covered by MSP with a referral from a health care provider. Referrals gratefully accepted from Midwives, Physicians, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Social Workers.
