Hello! My name is Ari and I am very excited to be starting my midwifery career with the Nettle Team.

I came to midwifery because I believe that better healthcare is given in the context of trusting relationships built over time. There is profound meaning in witnessing the transformations that occur over the childbearing year as families begin, change, and grow. Through it all, my goal is to truly listen so that I may support you in the decisions you make during such a significant time.

Over the course of my midwifery education at the University of British Columbia I was privileged to provide care on the land of the Gitxsan, Syilx, and Tla’amin Nations. Most recently I was placed with the Dandelion Team right here at Strathcona Midwifery on the land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. As a settler, my gratitude for these lands is renewed every time I step outside and enjoy the clean air, look up to the beautiful mountains, and play in the cold water. Before pursuing midwifery I worked a variety of jobs including waitressing, tree planting, and working at the Vancouver Public Library.
