What to expect this summer…

As you are likely aware, the FIFA World Cup will be coming to Vancouver. We want the families we serve to know what to expect and how to plan ahead to ensure they arrive safely and on time for their appointments. To ensure appointments are on time, we ask clients to give themselves ample time and expect that traffic and parking may be difficult from May until July, especially on Match Days. Please plan accordingly.

The following traffic impacts will occur:

  • From May 23rd through the end of July, Pacific Boulevard will be closed between the Cambie Street Bridge off-ramp and Carrall Street to expand the stadium footprint and ensure public safety.

  • Walking and cycling routes will largely remain open, including the False creek seawall, with detours where needed.

  • On the seven match days (see below), additional temporary road closures and restrictions will be in place near BC Place Vancouver.

BC Place Vancouver will open three (3) hours before the time listed above and concludes two (2) hours after the final whistle. Before and after the event we can expect roads, transit, bike paths, and sidewalks around our office to be very busy. You can find more resources regarding traffic and parking below and maps of known road closures on the following page.

If you plan to transit, our clinic is a 10 minute walk North from the Main Street-Science World SkyTrain Station. Or if you prefer to bus, the 3, 8, and 19 buses stop at Main and Georgia (North Bound)/Keefer (South Bound) which are both a 1 minute walk from our clinic.
